Children's PEERS® is a 10 week evidence-based social skills intervention adapted for elementary age children who are interested in learning new ways of making and keeping friends. This internationally acclaimed program, used in over 35 countries, was originally developed at UCLA by Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson.

During each session, children learn a new skill and have time to practice it within the group.
Your child is likely to benefit if he or she:
Has few or no friends
Has difficulty sharing and resolving conflicts
Tends to be aggressive or bossy with other children
Is shy, reserved or inattentive with other children
Has experienced bullying or rejection from other children

Parents attend concurrent sessions which focus on their supportive role in their child’s social development. Parents learn ways to build their child’s social network and effective coaching methods for practicing with their child. Parents assist with weekly socialization homework.
Parent involvement is key to success!
Skills include:
Finding common interests with other children
Joining other children at play
Playing fairly and being a good sport
Resolving disagreements
Choosing friends
Dealing with rejection, teasing and bullying
